Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started & Scheduling
Q: How do I get started with Individual Therapy, Couple Therapy, or Life Coaching?
A: The first step for all new clients is to secure a complimentary 15-minute consultation with J'Lynn. This allows us to briefly discuss your goals and ensure we are the right clinical or coaching match for your needs. You can initiate this consultation by calling the office directly, emailing jlynn@pearlsoflovetc.com, or filling out the contact form on this website. The office will follow up with you within one to two business days to confirm your consultation time.
Q: What is the benefit of working with a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)?
A: Our Individual Therapy and Couple Therapy sessions are offered virtually for your convenience and comfort. Life Coaching Packages are primarily virtual but may offer limited in-person availability within a specific local radius, which can be discussed during your consultation.
Q: What is the benefit of working with a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)?
A: An LMFT is a therapist with specialized training in relational dynamics and systemic issues. While we treat individuals, our focus is always on healing relationships—whether it's the relationship with your partner, your family, or yourself. This perspective is highly effective for addressing relational trauma and codependency.
Investment & Insurance
Q: What is the investment for your services?
A: As a private pay practice, fees are due at the time of service.
-
Individual Therapy (50 mins): $125 per session
-
Couple Therapy (60 mins): $175 per session
-
Life Coaching Packages: The investment for coaching is based on a structured program (e.g., $350 for 2 sessions, up to $2,000 for 12 sessions). Full package details are listed on the Services page.
Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: No, we do not accept insurance directly and are considered an out-of-network provider. This model allows us to prioritize your care by creating treatment plans tailored to your specific needs, rather than being limited by insurance company restrictions.
Q: What is a superbill and how does it help with insurance?
A; Superbill is a receipt we provide monthly that contains all the necessary information, including diagnosis codes and service codes (CPT codes), that your insurance company requires. You can submit this superbill directly to your insurance provider, and if you have out-of-network benefits, they may reimburse you for a portion of the fee paid to Pearls of Love. It is recommended that you contact your insurance company before starting therapy to ask about your out-of-network coverage for mental health services.
Service Clarity (Therapy vs. Coaching)
Q: What is the difference between Therapy and Life Coaching?
A: This is a very important distinction!
-
Therapy (Clinical): Is a healthcare service focused on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety, trauma). It is often rooted in the past to achieve deep emotional repair.
-
Life Coaching (Non-Clinical): Is a structured, goal-oriented partnership focused on skill acquisition, strategy, and achieving future goals (e.g., setting boundaries, boosting professional confidence). It is not for the treatment of mental illness.
Q: Can I use my superbill to get reimbursed for Life Coaching?
A: No. Life coaching is a non-clinical, educational, and goal-oriented service. It is not considered a medical necessity by insurance companies, and therefore, superbills cannot be issued for coaching packages.
